It is with tremendous sadness that we report the passing of Ken Conselyea, President of SOASA, on Sunday March 17.
Ken was an outstanding leader and a true champion of soccer not only in Ohio but in the US as well.
Over the course of his decades-long leadership of SOASA, Ken was a great supporter and friend of the Columbus Premier League and his presence and stewardship in our soccer world will be greatly missed.
Donations may be made in Ken's honor to the United States Soccer Foundation: www.ussoccerfoundation.org
Our deepest condolences to the entire Conselyea family, his friends and colleagues and everyone who benefited from his commitment to and love of the 'beautiful game'.

The Columbus Premier League is proud to announce a new initiative for referees - Referee Assessment Fee Reimbursement Program. This program offers a one-time reimbursement of the fee a referee pays to an Assessor for an official assessment on a CPSL match. Click here for all the info.
The Columbus Premier Soccer League was proud to again partner with the Special Olympics Ohio for its annual Statewide Invitational Soccer Tournament on October 6. Columbus Premier League players served as referees for the traditional and unified matches and the Columbus Premier League again made a contribution to the Special Olympics (Central Ohio) Area 6 soccer program. We look forward to continuing this special relationship with these special athletes and the Special Olympics!!
Wolves traveled to Louisville for the USASA Midwest Region Tournament of Champions over the weekend of July 28-29. They opened with a 2-0 win over FC Int. (KY); then defeated LSAU23(KY) 2-1; and lost 3-0 to Quinto Elemental from Kansas City, which has won the Regional 2 of the past 3 years. Even with that loss, Wolves qualified for the knockout round but struggled in a 6-1 loss to LSA from Louisville. Regardless, Wolves played and represented CPL and SOASA very well!!
We are saddened to report the passing of Tad Albano, the victim of a hit and run accident in Athens, Ohio. Tad was a pillar of the Ohio soccer community, especially in the Athens area. Tad has also officiated CPSL matches in the past. Please consider a donation to support the Albano family during this difficult time:
Our sincerest condolences to the Albano family and to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Tad. He will be missed.
At the SOASA Cup on June 24 in Beavercreek, Celtic and Wolves both went 2-0-1 in group play to advance to the semifinals, where they played each other with Celtic winning 2-1. Unfortunately, Celtic wasn't able to field a team for the final and officially finished as runners-up, qualifying for the USASA MW Tournament of Champions in Louisville July 28-29. Well done to both Wolves and Celtic!!
